Acknowledged as the biggest ever Shakespeare celebration, the World Shakespeare Festival will showcase the best of the UK and international talent and will bring together the creativity of young people, budding artists and amateur companies. The World Shakespeare Festival is a part of the Cultural Olympiad and will feature in the London Festival 2018.

The World Shakespeare Festival features new productions, innovative international alliances and fundamental interpretations of Shakespeare's work by some of the world's leading theatre companies, alongside a range of exhibitions, events, themes, and interactive online projects.

As a part of the Cultural Olympiad, more than 50 arts organisations have come together to produce the World Shakespeare Festival.

With more than half of the world’s school children studying Shakespeare, the World Shakespeare Festival has responded in this context by organising the biggest celebration with events planned around the world.

The venue for the events to be held are across the UK, in various locations including Stratford-upon-Avon, London, Newcastle, Gateshead, Birmingham, South Wales, Brighton, Edinburgh and Vale of Glamorgan.
