The Brighton Festival is a much looked forward to annual event and celebrates the arts, including music, theatre, dance, circus, film and literature. Held in in the seaside town of Brighton & Hove it takes place over three weeks in May and has been doing so for almost half a century now, with this year being the 49th year running.

The Brighton Festival is arguably England’s biggest festival and is awaited by all art lovers who come in droves to attend. Artistes and performers in all art related fields come to take part in this festival and the audiences too come from all over.

Over the years, the Brighton Festival has had many a famous Guest Director including well known sculptor Anish Kapoor, Aung San Suu Kyi, Vanessa Redgrave and Hofesh Shechtar. This year the Guest Director will be the well-known award winning author Ali Smith.

Festival Venues

There are at least 34 different venues al across Brighton & Hove that play host to the events everyday over three weeks. Starting with the Brighton Dome Concert Hall, Brighton Dome Studio Theatre, Old Market, and Brighton Dome’s café bar that serves as the central hub of the festival and people can meet, discuss and debate on the ongoing shows and concerts.

Book your tickets online in advance so that you will not be disappointed. One can also buy tickets from the Brighton Festival Ticket Office, at 29 New Road, Brighton, or simply show up before the show and take your chance.
