How to Get to Miami by Air Miami International Airport is served by most major airlines. Just 6 miles from downtown, the airport is connected to town by taxis and Super Shuttle mini vans. One can also rent a car at the airport.

How to Get to Miami by Bus If you are driving, Miami can be reached on the I-95 that runs along Florida's east coast and on I-75 from the northwest. Several bus lines serve the city and there are bus terminals spread across Miami.

Getting Around Miami Since Miami is spread out over a large area, a car is convenient to get around the city. Cars can be easily rented here and an innovative road signs program "Follow The Sun" which has an orange sun against a blue background are used to mark out routes to major attractions.
Public transportation is also available - the Metro-Dade Transit Agency offers Metrorail services from downtown to South Miami, Metromover services within the downtown area and Metrobus services throughout the city.
If you are not in too much of a hurry, you can use the water taxi.
