| | Where to Stay in Sunderbans |
|
Within the Sunderbans reserve, the only accommodation available is at Sajnekhali, where there is a tourist lodge. The lodge stands atop pillars- to keep away hungry tigers- and has rooms as well as dormitories. Don’t expect anything fancy in either boarding or lodging.
Outside the park, especially at Piyali and Bakkhali, are tourist lodges and hotels which can be an alternative for anyone looking for a place to stay. Rates vary considerably, depending upon what level of comfort you are looking for.
Amongst the most expensive accommodation options are Sunderbans Jungle Camp, Sunderban Tiger Camp and Sunderban Mangrove Retreat. These places feature ultra comfortable stays and modern facilities. If you are looking for little less priced mid-rung accommodation then try Suranjana Holiday Resort or Sajnekhali Tourist Lodge located at Pakhiralaya.
