Vedanthangal is the oldest bird sanctuary in the country and conveniently, located very close to Chennai. Extremely picturesque, the Vedanthangal Sanctuary covers an area of 30 hectares and comprises of a large tank interspersed with numerous tree and bamboo covered islands. One of the largest bird sanctuaries in India, Vedanthangal offers a great opportunity to watch wild birds in their natural habitat.

You will have to pay the minimum entry, camera and parking fee before entering the sanctuary.

Carry along a pair of binoculars, a bird book and a camera with zoom lens to enhance your experience.
