Fateh Prakash Palace

Fateh Prakash Palace in Udaipur is one of the most well known palaces in the city as the fort was once popular for being the place where the Maharanas of Mewar held court. The palace was made during the reign of Maharana Fateh Singh, one of the greatest Maharanas of Mewar, to serve as an exclusive location for regal parties, and for meticulously decided special guests. But today the palace has been converted into a much sought after hotel which offers its services and a chance to live the regal way, to all.

In the palace, the Durbar Hall Sabhagaar, is one of the main attractions due to its historical importance as Lord Minto, the then Viceroy of India, laid its foundation stone in 1909 and thereby the hall was also initially named in his honour as Minto Hall.

Located on the eastern side of Lake Pichola, the fortress looks as if it is a part of some fairytale. The entire citadel is decorated with historical interiors, miniature paintings; portraits, armoury of the Mewar Empire and the imperial artefacts which all add to the charm of the entire experience of visiting the palace. Post its transformation into a hotel, the suites and rooms of the hotel are adorned with original furnishings of the palace.

The palace has been taken over by the HRH group and converted into a hotel which provides its guests with world class regal experience.
