|
Relatively modern, Kohima, the capital of Nagaland, was built in the nineteenth century by the British and is not representative of the traditions of the tribes that inhabit the state. The town was founded for administrative reasons and continues to exist as such. Kohima is not a hill station and does not have winding streets or wooden cottages flanked by gardens. If you want an intimate look at the tribal way of life, trek up 20km to the Khonoma village, once a stronghold of the Nagas.
So come make that trip to the intriguing northeast, to Kohima and beyond. Travel here to discover the interesting lifestlye and culture of the Nagas.
