History
Mizoram State Museum in Aizawl is one of the most sought after tourist destinations in the city as it showcases the state’s glories and accolades from the past. Situated in the centre of the main town, near the Chief Minister’s residence, the museum possesses exciting exhibits relating to the Mizo culture. Mizoram State Museum was basically established in the year 1977 to give the state an ethnological museum. Today, it stores more than 2500 items, each of which is a proof of the affluent past and ethnic background of Mizoram.
