How to Reach Amboli by Air

The nearest airport would be Dabolim, Goa (127 km/ 2 1/2 hrs) that is served by a host of airlines like Indian Airlines, Kingfisher and Jetite. From Goa take a taxi to get to Amboli via Sawantwadi.

How to Reach Amboli by Rail

The nearest railhead is Sawantwadi which is 28 kms from Amboli. Regular buses ply on the route.

How to Reach Amboli by Bus

From Goa it will be a pleasant drive of 2 hours. If you are coming from Mumbai drive all the way down NH17 till you get to Kudal. Just 3 km short of Sawantwadi is Akheri Road Junction, from where you take a left onto the curving SH121 that leads to Amboli. It will take you 11 hours to drive from Mumbai.

You can also drive to Amboli from Pune which is a 9 hours drive. Take NH 4 out of Pune and head towards Satara and Kolhapur till Nipani. Just after Nipani, take the right turn on SH 135 for Amboli.

Getting Around Amboli

Taxis and rickshaws are available at Amboli, or you can hire bicycles and move around. It is also possible to hire horse here.
