Indore the largest city in Madhya Pradesh is known for its cuisine, Maheshwari and Chanderi saris and cloth industry. It is also the commercial hub of the state and hence is sometimes referred to as mini Mumbai.

So if you want to buy some Maheshwari or Chanderi saris or if you would like to sample some sumptuous Gujarati food, head to Indore.

Interestingly Indore derives its name from the 18th Century Indreshwar Temple.

The famous Bada Ganpati is the largest Ganesha idol in the world at the height of 40 feet.

Lalbagh Palace’s gates are an exact replica of the gates of London’s Buckingham Palace. They were made in England and then shipped to Indore.
