The best time to visit Kerala is from October to March when the weather is pleasant enough for sightseeing and exploring the scenic beauty of the state. No month is completely dry but these are less wet than the rest of the year. Humidity is relatively low and the weather is balmy.
The summer months ranging from March to May are hot but not humid. Summer season is followed by monsoon that stretches from June to August. The weather is extremely pleasant during the winter season. Generally, winter season stretches from September to March. Often, the state experiences rain during September and October. During the winter season, the weather is pleasant and comfortable for sightseeing.
However, since the state does not experience extreme weather conditions in any season, it is gradually becoming an all season destination to enjoy on beaches, backwaters and hill stations.

Climate
Kerala’s location is perfect for the moisture laden North-Easterlies that bring rain to the subcontinent. The monsoons arrive in Kerala in the month of May, shedding much of their moisture on the windward side of the Western Ghats first.
However, the period between October and March are less wet than the rest of the year. Humidity is relatively low and the weather is balmy. January-February and September-October average at 28° C in the plains and 22° C in the hills. May and June are extremely hot, humid, wet and these months face incessant rain. The temperatures in the plains go up to 32° C, but the high humidity levels make the season seem warmer.
