History
The Nizam’s Museum in Purani Haveli is a palace of the former Nizams which exhibits the gifts that Osman Ali Khan, AsafJah VII,the last Nizam of Hyderabad state received on his silver jubilee celebrations.
The museum itself is home to countless souvenirs, gifts and mementos that were gifted to the last Nizam by eminent dignitaries on his silver jubilee celebrations in the year 1936. Of note is a golden, wooden throne that was used for the silver jubilee celebrations of the Last Nizam, a diamond inlaid gold tiffin box, miniature repilica of the Jubilee Hall, paintings of Mir Osman Ali Khan. Also present here is a wooden writing box covered with mother-of-pearl, daggers studded with diamond and gold, caskets, and silver ittardans or perfume containers that were presented by the raja of palvancha.
