Best Time to Visit Araku Valley

Araku Valley in Andhra Pradesh is a year round tourist destination which enjoys moderate climate but the best time to visit Araku Valley is in winter months between October and February. The weather at this time of the year is very pleasant with balmy day time temperatures reaching up to 25 degree Celsius and cooler nights with temperatures hovering above the 8 to 10 degree Celsius mark. This is also a good time for trekking, sightseeing and outdoor activities in the hill station.

In the summer months the temperatures rise above 30 degree C, but the evening are cool and one never really feels the heat here because of its location in valley, so it makes for good getaway from Vizag where the mercury level touches 40 degrees C! In April 'pongal' is celebrated by the tribals of Araku as a hunting festival when all the men folk go out hunting and return home with their spoils to feast and dance.

The monsoons come in late June and it rains sporadically till September, cooling the valley.
