Where to Stay in Andhra Pradesh

There is no dearth of places to stay in Andhra Pradesh. In the larger cities and towns like Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam the range of accommodation is wide and comprehensive. Upper-end travellers will find the 5-star hotels here to their satisfaction; they are at par with any other hotel in the same category.

In Visakhapatnam, some of the best hotels are on the beach with private strips of sun kissed sand. There are youth hostels in these cities. There are neat well-maintained railway retiring rooms (some even air conditioned) for the budget traveller, as well as a host of tiny lodges and hotels with varying facilities.

Places to stay in Puttaparthi, mainly include Ashrams, but you will have to observe rules pertaining to ‘lights out’, smoking and drinking. You could also stay somewhere in town where there is one luxury hotel. There are no real luxury hotels in either Tirupati or Tirumala. There are plenty of mid-range options in Tirupati, but the range is substantially wider in Tirumala where you can find everything from dormitory style slumber to private cottages on rent. Accommodations in Andhra Pradesh should be reserve well in advance if you’re going to visit during important Hindu festivals.
