Porsche Museum

History

The Porsche Museum opened in 1976 in Zuffenhausen, houses over 400 historical models and vehicles that are displayed in the museum on a rotating basis. The museum is a showcase of all the cars, all the models, produced by the Porsche Company since its inception, and includes vehicles from the very beginning to the latest models.

The Porsche came into limelight during the 21st century when Hitler commissioned the company, named after its owner-Ferdinand Porsche- to design a new car. It was then that the ‘Volkswagen’, the ‘people’s car’, came into being. The museum has a wealth of Porsches on display, ranging from the first sports car that rolled off in 1936 to the new models and prototypes that never went into production.

In the Museum Shop you’ll find a selection of literature, a unique line of model vehicles, selected accessories for historical cars, a small souvenir or a sought-after collector’s item. In the museum, you will find it all! The company offers daily guided tours one and a half hour factory tour at 10 am and 2 pm for visitors, who can also see the production lines at work. Reservations are required for the tour.
