How to Get to Provence by Air

There are two major airports in Provence - Marseille-Provence and Nice-Côte d’Azur. The nearest airport to the city is Nice-Côte d’Azur Airport. From the airport you can hire a cab or take the shuttle bus to get to the main city. Also airports like Cannes and St-Tropez mainly serve private planes.

How to Get to Provence by Rail

Provence boasts an excellent train network which connects Lyon and Paris. The TGV fast train gets you there in about three hours. The gateway cities are Aix-en-Provence, Avignon and Valence. From these cities, one can easily explore the beautiful region.

How to Get to Provence by Bus

International bus passes are cheaper than rail passes and could offer unlimited travel, letting you board a bus whenever and wherever.

Getting Around Provence

A good option to get around the city of Provence is by using the Public mode of transportation. Most of the town is accesible by bus or by train. If you wish to explore the city on your own, then rent a car and drive around but it is not advised for first time visitors as driving on the highways can be a little difficult. You can take the shuttle bus and move around the city.
