Debt-stricken Air India again found itself in a crisis on February 2, 2012 when the airline’s flights were grounded for several hours at six airports around the country including the capital and other metros, as the oil companies snapped their fuel supplies for allegedly failing to credit pending payments from the airline. This left passengers stranded for hours at the airports until the aviation ministry intervened and assured the fuel companies that a part payment would be made on February 3, 2012.
