Who settles the claims ?

It is herewith notified that TATA AIG will be the sole party responsible for settling any claims and shall have the right to process the claim as per their laid out rules and regulations *** . Please read their claims procedure *** prior to purchase of the policy document

Can he go anywhere in the world?

Yes. However, the premium amount for trips that include North or South America is different from the premium amount for trips that do not include the Americas and is separate for travel within Asia ***

What is the maximum period a person can travel?

Insurance coverage will be made for a maximum period of 180 days for a single trip policy and 45 days at a time for Annual Multi trip policy.

What are the types of cover available?

Single Trip policy – 3 plans – Silver, Gold &Platinum.

What does the cover cover?

It covers accident sickness expense, baggage loss or delay, emergency evacuation, repatriation of remains, personal liability and loss of passport. 

What does it not cover?

It does not cover pre-existing medical sickness, unaccompanied baggage cancellation/curtailment of journey, etc.

When does the cover commence?

Cover commences from the moment the outbound aircraft takes off and ceases on landing at the last named destination of travel.

Can I get the full cover?

You will get reimbursement in excess of the deductible and up to the sum(s) insured applicable to each cover.

Can I extend the policy?

No

If I have to go a number of times what do I do?

You can take Annual multi-trip policy.

Do I have to undergo a medical examination?

No. However, pre-existing illness/disease are not covered. A completed and signed Medical Declaration from the Insured regarding recent health conditions is a pre-requisite of cover .

What do I do if the trip is cancelled?

You can cancel the policy and a refund will be allowed after deducting Rs 500/- as cancellation charges. It is hereby informed that documentation pertaining to the cancellation shall be required and will be binding for customers to provide the same for processing the cancellation . Cancellation cannot be processed if the policy has come into effect . The policy comes into effect from midnight of the date given for example if you desire the policy to commence from June 21 , 2007 – thence the policy will come into effect from 0000 hrs on June 21 st , 2007 and shall remain in effect till midnight of the last date of travel mentioned by the customer . Thus if a policy commencing on June 21st , 2007 needs to be cancelled it shall be required to be intimated to us before close of business on the preceeding working day of the commencement of policy .

What do I do if the trip is postponed?

We will postpone the cover by charging Rs 150/- for the endorsements.

What do I do when some of the members of the group drops out of the tour?

A refund will be allowed subject to the cancellation clause being met .

What is the mode of payment?

Payment can be made by cash/cheque/credit card .

How long does it take to get the policy?

The policy documentation will be issued within 24 hours of receipt of request . However, the policy cover is not valid until date of departure and is contingent upon premium payment being received and realized by JourneyMart. Otherwise, the policy is not valid. 

When do I have to make the payment?

Payment has to be made on the same business day as the application for cover is submitted via this Internet site. In case of emergencies the policy can be issued immediately by our customer services on receiving the payment by cash.

Do I get the money back if there is no claim?

No.

What do I do if I meet with an accident or sickness abroad?

Do I pay for the call?

No, it’s a collect call facility.

Who will pay for the bills?

The TATA AIG SOS will guarantee the payments subject to being satisfied in excess of USD 100. Please be advised that the first USD 100 claim is deductible in all policy covers .

If I make the payment will I get a reimbursement?

Yes. In India, in Indian Rupees.

Do I necessarily have to contact the assistance company in case of an emergency?

Yes, it is necessary that you call the TATA AIG assistance company alarm centre on 0091-11-3352707 before taking any action.

What are the cancellation clauses ?

The cancellation of the policy document is subject to the jurisdiction of TATA AIG and is subject to their validation of the reasons for cancellation and supported by documentation towards the same  . If TATA AIG does not recognize the reasons as valid for cancellation of the Policy document they reserve the right to deny the claim .
