Happy New Year
When: Tuesday, 1st January 2014
Not Auld Lang Syne but for days to come!
Here's to the bright New Year
And a fond farewell to the old;
Here's to the things that are yet to come
And to the memories that we hold.
As we step into 2014, we are one year older, a little bit battered, a little sore, a bit battle weary but ready for more. One year older, but not much wiser... the lessons of the past millennia seemingly forgotten as we prepare to usher in another year.
Let’s start this new year with the slate wiped clean of old grievances and hostilities. Let us welcome 2014 as the dawn of a new era and meet its opportunities and challenges with new vision and vigour.
Let us celebrate the birth of 2014 by learning the lessons history teaches us. Ring in the new year by discarding the unhappy past and looking ahead to the coming days with renewed hope and optimism.
... and yes, let’s continue to wait patiently for our next pay raise!
New Year's Day in 2014 will be celebrated on Wednesday, 1 January.
