Sedona is intensely spiritual and stunning all at the same time. The city is settled among Oak Creek Canyon’s red sandstone formations that look rather alien. Everyone from artists to day-trippers to healers to spiritual seekers is drawn to Sedona. Sedona is also believed to be the center of vortexes that radiate the power of the earth; the mysticism and picturesque beauty of Sedona make it a perfect tourist destination year-round. Tourists in search of the ultimate places to see in Sedona, US need not look any further.

Chapel of the Holy Cross
This modern and nondenominational chapel, which is situated between majestic and striking red-rock columns, was built in the tradition of Frank Lloyd Wright in 1956. Even those who do not have any religious affiliation will be impressed by this soaring chapel and the perch occupied by it. In the West Sedona hills, the consecrated Buddhist shrine of Amitabha Stupa can be admired, which is set quite spectacularly amid juniper stunningly and piñon. Further down there is another smaller stupa as well.

Palatki Heritage Site
The cliff dwellings in Sinagua and the rock art there are 1000 years old, which is an ideal reason to tread upon the 9-mile long dirt road that leads up to this charmingly located archaeological site. A small visitor center is situated there, along with two easy trails. Pets are not allowed and reservations have to be made since parking there is limited. Archaeology buffs would definitely want to explore the Honanki Ruins by traveling 3 miles towards the north.

Red Rock Country
The startling array of red sandstone formations of Sedona’s Red Rocks can be discovered there. Apart from the astonishing background of the Red Rocks, which are definitely worth experiencing, ancient Native American ruins can also be explored there. These include the Montezuma Castle National Monument or the Tuzigoot National Monument. At Tuzigoot National Monument, the remains of some of the largest pueblos can be seen there. Sedona can also be explored on foot; travellers may get a psychic reading, or pay a visit to topnotch art galleries and shops.

The Vortexes
It is quite common to hear about vortexes when in Sedona, but many travellers who pay a visit to the city do not exactly know what they are. They are actually cyclones of energy coming directly from the earth and anyone within the vicinity of these vortexes gets to feel that energy. Uniquely shaped rock formations are also present there, which according to the locals apparently emit energy. Sedona has four primary vortexes, each of which emits its own unique energy.

Verde Valley Wine Trail
Arizona does not typically come to mind when thinking about wine country. However, Sedona is home two Verde Valley where access to water and dry climate are offered, two essential conditions that are required for grapes to thrive. Thus, for wine lovers, following the Verde Valley Wine Trail is something they would not want to miss. They can visit four of the most popular wineries in the area and sample some locally made wine at each of the five tasting cellars.
