As we all know, the majestic city of London is one of the leading, most beautiful cities in the world. It is the capital of Great Britain, United Kingdom. This magnificent city has a classy collection of innumerable clubs, theatres and live music concerts, wining and dining spots, various historic places, famous watering holes, and more. London is also one of the most remarkable cultural and financial capitals in the world. The history of this city states that it was originated by “Caer Troia” also known as ‘Brutus of Troy’ 2000 years ago. From the ancient times, London was known by many names, one of which being “Londinium”. A beautiful place to visit, London consists of a very rich culture.

The Big Ben: Situated in the “Palace of Westminster” which is now known as the House of Parliament, the mighty clock tower of the Big Ben is known to be the 3rd largest clock tower in the whole world. Weighing 13,760 kgs and about 315 feet tall, the Big Ben would be almost about 16 stories high. The name “Big Ben” is just a nickname of this magnificent clock tower, the original name being “Elizabeth Tower”. This beauty MUST be visited when in London.

The London Eye: The most famous Ferris Wheel we all know is the London Eye. It is recorded to be the biggest in the whole world. Located on the banks of the river “Thames”, it stands 443 feet tall. The giant wheel’s diameter is 395 feet. Being one of the most popular tourist attractions in all of England, the London Eye draws almost 3 million visitors every year. A must visit place in all of London.

Buckingham Palace: Also known to be Buckingham House, this palace was originally made for “state occasions”. The first royalty to live there was none other than Queen Victoria (died 1901) followed by many others such as King George, King Edward the 7th, etc. A magnificent monument of royalty, this palace must be visited without hesitation.

The Royal Opera House: Located at the Convent Garden of London, the Royal Opera House (also recognised as the Theatre Royal) is one of the best places in London to visit and enjoy the beauty of the performing arts. It is known to be the place/ house of “The Royal Ballet”, “The Royal Opera” and “The Royal Orchestra”. It is a beautiful place to be at and enjoy the splendid art of music and dance.

St. Paul’s Cathedral: Being one of the world’s most churches, the St. Paul’s Cathedral is well known for its exquisite stone carvings. The Dome of the cathedral is 365 feet in height to be precise. Within the cathedral there are many galleries, namely the Golden Gallery, Whispering Gallery and the Stone Gallery. A beautiful place to visit and pray, this cathedral completes the beauty of London.
