Mount Abu ~ Ultimate Place to Visit

Gracefully styled temples, cool ambience, simple natural beauty- Mount Abu is amongst the most preferred places for a lot of travelers, domestic and foreign in the state of Rajasthan. It is nestled amid the lush wooded ranges of the Aravalli Mountains in Sirohi district at an altitude of 4000ft above sea level. Known as an oasis in the desert, this bewitching hill station also has a spiritual significance that draws thousands of devotees every year.

Mount Abu, hailed as Arbudaranya according to celebrated tales, takes its name from Arbuda, a serpent deity who came down to this place to release Shiva’s bull. It catches the attention of archeologists much owing to the ample of archaeological places spread in and around. Jain temples with spectacular architectural beauty are also traveler appeals in this splendid nature’s exquisiteness. The list doesn’t end here; there are many more attractions that one can scout during the tour to a charming city of Mount Abu.

Guru Shikhar
Positioned at a height of around 1,722 m above sea level just 6 miles from Mount Abu, Guru Shikhar is an adventurous trek that leads one to the highest peak of this place. The travelers can wallow in the picturesque sights of the surroundings along with the salubrious climate making it a much sought after place for isolation.

Achalgarh
A small village located close to Rajmachi, Achalgarh is famous for its ancient fort namely Achalgarh fort. It was constructed by Rana Kumbha of Mewar Dynasty in the 14th century to keep a check on the movements of rivals. There is a famous temple called Achaleshwar Mahadeo Temple situated within the premises of the fort. Here, the main deity is Lord Shiva and it is said that the footsteps on the sacred rock is of him. Achalgarh is the perfect place for any sort of traveler wishing to spend the time in the rural places of India.

Nakki Lake
Famed for its pleasant and tranquil environment, Nakki Lake is a most visited tourist attraction in the surroundings of pictorial hills. It is perched just 5 minutes walking distance from entertainment center, markets and eminent tourism. The hub of fun and entertainment – Nakki Lake is the idyllic destination to spend some quality time with your closest ones.

Adhar Devi Temple
Nestled in a cave in the north of Mount Abu, Adhar Devi Temple is amongst the most important pilgrimage centers that draw thousands of tourists from all over. One has to take 365 steps to reach the temple devoted to Goddess Durga.

Doodh Baori
Doodh Baori, a holy well having divine powers, is located in proximity to the Adhari Temple. Many locals and tourist pay homage at the well. Offering you a picturesque sight of the setting sun, Sunset Point is a must visit on a tour to Mount Abu. Hundreds of folks flock this place in the evening amid a pleasant ambience. The beautiful hills, salubrious atmosphere and serene surroundings make it a renowned site among travelers.
