Madhya Pradesh, popularly known as the heart of India, is a beautiful place to travel around. The state greets you with the heritage sites like ancient temples, spectacular monuments, palaces, forts and many more. From natural beauties to artificial marvels, the state has it all for tourists. Many forsaken cities of Madhya Pradesh provide an exciting window to the past. Other than these emblems of the culture and history, there are many wildlife spotting areas that have a rich variety of flora and fauna in the state as well.

Historical and Cultural attractions in Madhya Pradesh

Khajuraho, a heritage site of the state, is rated as one of the top historic destinations in the country. It is well known for its temples abound in erotic sculptures. These temples show a solemnization of life, love and worship.
Gwalior is a city bustling with life. Rajput clans have left a rich historic heritage in the city, which includes artistic monuments, temples and palaces. The main attraction of Gwalior is its colossal hilltop fort that towers the city.
Orchha is located on the banks of the river Betwa, and has the traces of the affluent history of the state. It is situated at the distance of 75km from the Gwalior city. It is a serene place with a medieval charm. Jahangir Mahal, one of the most impressive places in Orchha, offers an eye-catching panoramic sight.
Mandu, a splendid city placed on the outcrop of the Vindhya Mountains, was once the luxurious home of the Mughals. The place is endowed with the crystal-clear lakes and spectacular ponds. The place is undoubtedly a paradise for the nature lovers.
Sanchi is a historic place replete with the stupas, monasteries, primeval temples and splendid pillars. These mementos of the golden history are hundreds of years old. The most famous monument of Sanchi is the Sanchi Stupa.

Other cities like Bhopal, Chitrakoot, Indore, Ujjain, etc., are also the symbol of the national heritage and pride of the state. In terms of tourism, these places have so much to offer.



Wildlife attractions in Madhya Pradesh
According to a report of the Madhya Pradesh Forest Department, the tourism in protected areas of the state has been growing at the rate of 10% per year. The state has many wildlife attractions that provide a diversified experience of the nature. There are nine national parks in Madhya Pradesh. Other than these national parks, the state has twenty five wildlife sanctuaries as well. These sanctuaries are rapidly developing as an imperative tourist destination. The state has the highest tiger population in the country; therefore, it is also recognized as the tiger state of India.

Protected areas like Panna Tiger Reserve, Bandhavgarh National Park, Satpura National Park, Madhav National Park, Pench National Park, etc. are a dreamland for the wildlife enthusiasts. A trip to these wildlife attractions takes you to the verdant greenery of the woods that are naturally an adobe of various wildlife species.

Madhya Pradesh is the place that has been a home to many cultural heritages and wildlife attractions. The numerous monuments and the spectacular protected areas make the state an ideal destination for the tourists.
