Gatwick Airport hotels for a quick overnight stay

December 27, 2012

Gatwick Airport is the second busiest airport in the UK, second only to Heathrow. There are flights which come in and out of Gatwick from all over the world. A lot of people use Gatwick as a stop-off point because of it's location. Thus, individuals will fly into Gatwick from their home airport and then fly to their consequent destination.

Some people are lucky and find a connecting flight which leaves only a few hours after it has landed at Gatwick. However, others may have to wait for a day or two and thus require somewhere to stay overnight. Luckily, Gatwick also boasts a vast selection of hotels in its proximity, so you won’t have any trouble finding somewhere to reside for the evening.

Nevertheless, for someone who has never been to Gatwick Airport before, or stayed in an airport based hotel in general, it can be quite difficult to know where to look for one. There are certain things that you should consider in order to find the best Gatwick airport hotels for your quick stay.

First and foremost, the most important thing you need to bear in mind is how far the hotel is from the airport. Some hotels are literally joined onto the airport building and thus you are only a mere walk away. Alternatively, there are hotels that are a short five to ten minute drive away, so you will need to organise a taxi. Most people like to stay as near to the airport as possible, but of course this all depends on availability.

Moreover, when staying in hotels which are linked to the airport, remember to be mindful of which terminal you are in. Gatwick is split up into the North and South terminal; they are easily accessible from one another via a frequent shuttle service which the airport runs.

In addition to location, price is also a consideration. This is a very important factor because essentially you are staying at the hotel for convenience purposes and so you do not want to end up paying over the odds. Booking early is a good way to ensure that you get a good price.

A final point to consider is the quality of the hotel. After all, if you are paying to stay somewhere then you want it to be nice. Moreover, if you have a long day of travelling ahead then you want a comfortable night’s sleep and something nice to eat. Therefore make sure you check out what the hotel has to offer, and even read some reviews that have been left by previous customers in order to gauge the general opinion of the hotel.

All in all, if you need to stay at one of the available Gatwick airport hotels overnight then make sure you consider price, location and quality in order to find the best accommodation for your short stay.
