Madhya Pradesh is regarded as the heart of India, and the Pench National Park is situated in the foothills of Satpura hills. Pench is among the most visited national parks of India. This park derives its name from the Pench River that divides the place in almost two equal halves.
Wildlife at the Pench National Park

The setting of the Pench National Park was an inspiration for Rudyard Kipling’s best ever work - ‘The Jungle Book’. The entire background and the characters of the story were sketched upon the real time inhabitants of the park. Therefore, Pench is also famous as the Mogli Land.
In addition to the work of Kipling, Pench also became the ground of a documentary, filmed by BBC. The documentary was named as ‘Tiger: Spy in the Jungle’, and hidden cameras were used for filming. This series was basically focused on the behavior of the big cats. It was April 2008, when this documentary was aired for the very first time.
