How to Get to Nha Trang by Air

Reaching Nha Trang via air is best achieved by entering Vietnam through any of the three major international airports located in the country, namely at Hanoi (Noi Bai International Airport), Ho Chi Minh City (Tan Son Nhat International Airport) and Danang (Danang International Airport) as they are easily accessible by tourists from all over the world.

Once you reach the airport of your choice, board Vietnam Airlines which has connecting flights to Nha Trang. This domestic airline will take you to the recently upgraded Cam Ranh International Airport, situated 30 Kms from the city of Nha Trang.

The perfect way to commute from airport to the city is by Taxis. You can hail Nha Trang Taxis (Red Taxis) which are specialized taxis taking visitors to and fro from airport and city. Though, getting to the city is a lot expensive than getting to the airport. Green and white taxis of Mai Linh Taxi, which are voted the best in the city, can also be availed to reach your destination. Some other taxi services such as EMASCO Taxi, khanh Hoa Taxi, Thien An Taxi and V20 Taxi aren’t bad either.

How to Get to Nha Trang by Rail

Nha Trang Railway Station is located in the northern part of town, connecting Nha Trang with the rest of Vietnam by train. Get on the Reunification Express from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City to reach the ‘Riviera of the South China Sea’.

It is wise to procure tickets well in advance to not only save time and energy but to also get comfortable seats. Soft sleeper class is the best that is offered by Vietnam railways containing four berths in a room which provides ample space to sit or lie down as you please.

How to Get to Nha Trang by Bus

Open tour buses as well public buses takes about 4-5 hours from Dalat, 11-12 hours from Ho Chi Minh City and 12-14 hours from Da Nang and will drop you at Lien Tinh bus station. Road journeys can be a little tiring, especially with the condition of roads in Vietnam. So prepare in advance before you board a bus.

Getting Around Nha Trang

Nha Trang is one of the few cities which, due to its size and compactness, forces even the most lethargic of travelers to get up and go for a walk. Exploring this seaside town on foot, as you take in its air, smells and noises, is a real treat. You can simply reach from one part of the city to the other by walking along the beaches of Nha Trang.

Renting a bicycle, bike or a moped isn’t a bad idea either. Many hotels, on request, provide these services to its guests, taking as little as $2 USD for an entire day. Cyclos are an economical and a convenient way to get around Nha Trang.

Some resorts and hotels in this city can only be reached via a boat. Even if you have no intention of visiting these places rent a boat any way. There is something extremely incredible about traversing the waters on a boat (rented or otherwise), with the wind messing up your hair and the salty taste of water covering your skin.

You also have the option of calling a Taxi which is astonishingly inexpensive, though you won’t be able to find them effortlessly on roads. Therefore, calling them beforehand is the best way to avail the services of a taxi.
