How to Get to Dubai by Air Dubai is the base for the Emirates’ National Airlines. It is also the main transport hub of the Middle East and many international carriers connect it to cities in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the rest of the world.

How to Get to Dubai by Bus Driving with licenses of most foreign countries or with an International Driving Permit is accepted provided you are driving a rented car. Car rentals and chauffeur driven cars are readily available in Dubai. Road signs are in English and it is easy to locate places of interest. Intercity buses operate within the Dubai emirate. There are two service taxi stations in Dubai. From the Deira taxi station, taxis go to Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al-Qaiwain, Ras al Khaimah and Fujairah. From Dubai the service taxis go to Abu Dhabi or Al Ain. Buses go to Hatta and Muscat in Oman.

Getting Around Dubai The roads of Dubai are a dream, so rent a car and drive around if you want to. Your local license should do but check it out with the rental company, your travel agent or hotel. Buses and special service taxis go to the airport. Local buses operate between Deira and Bur Dubai. Most of Dubai’s taxis are metered and are easy to get. “Aabras” (boats) leave from morning till midnight from both Deira and Dubai for trips up the Creek.
