Most of the shopping in Phuket is in Phuket town itself, and to tell the truth, it isn’t very much. There are shops selling Thai handicrafts, of course, but you won’t get much of a range- at least not as much as in Bangkok or Chiang Mai, and definitely at much higher prices. You can usually find some pretty but inexpensive souvenirs in the form of shells (or dolls and other items made from shell), if you’re very keen on buying something.
