Best Time to Visit Taiwan

Summer (June to August) isn’t a good time to visit Taiwan- it’s uniformly hot and humid, so try and time your trip for the rest of the year. Do remember, though, that holidays are a time when most accommodation gets full (or at least very expensive); many establishments, including shops and restaurants, close down; and transport is likely to be frightfully overcrowded. Especially avoid the Chinese New Year (usually in late February) and October, which is chockfull of holidays.

Climate

Taiwan lies in the subtropical zone, with hot and humid summers, and short, mild winters (snow falls only in the upper reaches of the mountains). Average temperatures usually range between 22°C in the north and 24°C in the south. The mountains have heavy rain during summers; other areas, though wet, have less precipitation.
