Festivals and Events in Interlaken

Interlaken hosts popular music festivals every summer, but nothing can compete with the annual William Tell Festival, held in July and August. The story of William Tell is enacted during the festival. It is staged at Matten, against a backdrop of the Rugen Woods, surrounded by medieval houses. Although the performances are only in German, you will enjoy watching the 250-member cast, in their traditional costumes, and the farm animals that form part of the play. The festival is immensely popular, and is famous all over Switzerland
