Eating Out in Interlaken

Though Interlaken is on the regular tourist’s itinerary, it is usually a stopover on the route to more attractive destinations. The town, therefore, does not have a large repertoire of dining and entertainment opportunities. There are a number of eating-places in town, especially along the Hoheweg, but the fare is the standard meat-vegetable-and-cheese.

Entertainment in Interlaken is as limited as dining. There are pubs, casinos, café, restaurants and bars, some of which have live music and are fairly lively. Besides this, there are performances of traditional Swiss music (especially alphorn blowing!), dances and folklore shows.
