Eating Out in Paramaribo

Restaurants attached to luxury hotels serve international cuisine. Full course meals at formal dining rooms are more expensive than a relatively light one at the coffee shops. Apart from these, there are plenty of Chinese, Creole, Indian and Indian restaurants and snack bars. The cheapest places to eat are warungs (Javanese food stalls).

Paramaribo has a fairly active nightlife. Several nightclubs and discotheques are attached to hotels. There is a drive-in cinema as well. Check the local newspaper for details.
