Festivals and Events in Cape Town

March is a busy month where festivals and events are concerned in Cape Town. The Pride Festival takes place for 10 days in end Feb early March, with the Cape Town Festival following – this is a cultural festival and held in venues all over the city where art and music form the mainstay. The Cape Town Jazz Festival is an international event held in late March and is widely attended by jazz lovers within the city as well as people who come in to listen and perform at this event. The 105km Argus Pick'n'Pay Cycle Tour, the largest individually timed bike race in the world with over 25,000 participants, takes place in early March.

Cape Town's largest seafaring event is the biennial Cape to Rio Yacht Race held in January in even years.

The Two Oceans Marathon, another of the Cape's big events, is a 56km marathon that takes place every April. For the musically inclined, the Kirstenbosch Summer Concerts are held in the famous gardens of the same name.

The Cape Gourmet Festival takes place in May and is gourmet delight with fabulous food and even better wines available.
