Tourist Info:
The most useful place to gather information is around the railway station, where all transport (trains, buses, airport shuttles and urban transport) terminates and information offices converge. On the Adderley Street side of the station, the Tourism Gateway is a complex housing various agencies, and is the base for many tour buses. Here you'll find the useful Captour office (Mon–Fri 8am–7pm, Sat 9am–5pm; 418 5202 or 418 5214), which also provides free city maps. Also here is Satour (Mon–Thurs 8am–4.30pm, Fri 8am–4pm, Sat 10am–12.30pm; 21 6274), helpful for general information about South Africa.
