| | Best Time to Visit Cape Town |
| |
|
Cape Town is good to visit any time of the year. It is fast becoming a year-round holiday destination because of its mild and moderate climate in all seasons. The climate here is the reverse of that in the Northern Hemisphere, meaning, spring : September and October, summer : November to March, fall : April and May and winter : June to August.
Summer is the peak season for tourists. When the countries in the Northern Hemisphere are experiencing very chilly winters the tourists prefer to come down to this exquisite city of Cape Town experiencing a very pleasant summer, with the average temperature ranging from 15 to 27 degrees Celsius.
Spring and fall are the shoulder season or the in-between seasons. If you want to have a nice time as well as enjoy solitude, these seasons are good to go. The tourists visiting Cape Town during this season are fewer which enable you to enjoy the beaches and other activities. This is the perfect time to visit this city if you are interested in whale-watching, or to witness the picturesque view that is created by the beautiful flowers blooming in the spring. You can also see the vineyards at their best during the spring.
Winters have a temperature ranging from 7 to 20 degree Celsius. This is also a suitable time to visit if you don’t mind a bit of a chilly climate which may get wet and windy on occasions.
Capetonians celebrate a number of events and festivals. Cape Town Minstrel Carnival also known as, Kapse Klopse or the Coon Festival locally is one of the most splendid festivals celebrated on New Year’s Day every year. Thousands of musicians, dancers, singers and tailors come together for the traditional festivities. Other important festivals are the Cape Town Jazz Festival celebrated in March. The Cape Town International Comedy Festival is another important festival celebrated in September every year. Well known talents from America as well as Britain come to participate and deliver performances
