Best Time to Visit Seychelles

The Seychelles is a year-round destination, since it enjoys warm tropical climate the whole year. For visitors from Europe or other areas with similar climate, the May to September period is probably the best time to visit, since temperatures are cooler and drier on the average. The threat of a tropical downpour is also less during this period. Room rates are highest and everything is busiest in December, January, July and August.

When the traveler goes to the Seychelles really depends on what activity one wants to indulge in. For diving enthusiasts, March, April, May, September, October and November are the best months. Windsurfing and sailing are best at the start and end of the trade winds, around May and October. Depending on their location, some beaches are better during the monsoon season, others during the trade winds.

The climate on the island is mainly influenced by the trade winds. From May to October, the Seychelles enjoys cool dry weather, but with dramatic overcast skies and turbulent seas. From December to March, the weather is hot and rainy but with calm seas. The average temperature is 29 degrees centigrade and the humidity is about 75%. The Seychelles lies beyond the cyclone belt.
