Where to Stay in Amsterdam

Life is a constant joyride for those who have the means to splurge, but it gets even better when in Amsterdam. This is obviously not to say that a budget traveler isn’t spoilt for choice when it comes to accommodation and places to stay here.

But if you can afford the luxury to stay in palatial hotels, then head towards the city centre which is home to a number of up-bracket, top class 5 star hotels. Radisson Sans, Grand Hotel Amrath Amsterdam, NH Grand Hotel Kransnaposky, Sofitel Amsterdam the Grand and Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel are some of the grandest accommodation choices that this city offers to the loaded businessmen.

Those with a mid-range budget can check out King’s Villa Hotel Amsterdam, Hotel Larende Amsterdam and Boutique Hotel View Amsterdam which not only make for some fine lodging places but also fulfill a traveler’s needs to be pampered.

Visitors on a tight budget mustn’t get disappointed as there are plenty of decent enough budget hotels and hostels suiting their pocket. The not-so-loaded backpacker can crash at Hotel Washington Amsterdam, Hotel Torenzicht Amsterdam, Hotel Atlanta Amsterdam and Hotel Victorie Amsterdam.

There are also boarding houses and rooms in private homes that you could stay in. Very often these accommodations have one meal included, and have friendly and knowledgeable locals as hosts who can guide you about the city. Youth Hostels such as Stayokay Amsterdam Vondelpark Hostel and Flying Pig Uptown Hostel also make for interesting accommodation options but need advance booking. Lodging space is especially tight from Easter to summer, so book well in advance.

If staying close to the airport or right inside its premises is your preference, you will find Crowne Plaza Amsterdam Schiphol, The Radisson Blu Amsterdam Airport, The Mercure Hotel Schiphol Terminal, The Zuiver Hotel, Hotel citizenM Amsterdam Airport and Yotel Schiphol Airport more than satisfactory.
