How to get there by Air
The only international airport in Nepal is Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International. There are flights to Kathmandu from around the globe. Within Nepal, most areas are connected by air, even though some by small aircrafts on little runways.

How to get there by Road
A popular way of entering Nepal is at the border with India. There are entry points at Kakkarbhitta (West Bengal), Biratnagar (Bihar), Birgunj (Bihar), Sunauli, Nepalgunj, Dhanagadi and Mahendranagar (all across the border from Uttar Pradesh). The towns are listed here as they lie from east to west. Biratnagar is Nepal’s second largest city, after Kathmandu. Buses enter at these points and of course you could drive in as well.
Only if you have a visa can you enter at these points. None are equipped to issue you a visa at the border. Indians do not need a visa to enter Nepal.

Getting Around
Nepal is very well connected by domestic air services. Each zone has at least one airport to its name and for such a small country it’s almost surprising that there are so many domestic operators. Helicopters can be chartered at Kathmandu.
Kathmandu is especially easy to reach by bus. There are links from all over the country, though the ride may be long, slow and painfully cramped.
It’s also possible to rent a car and drive yourself around in Kathmandu. Only chauffeured services are available outside Kathmandu. For a local license, bring your state license along; an international driving license is valid for 15 days after which you have to get a local license anyway. Minimum age: 18years.
Bike hire at tourist hot spots and middling sized market towns is quite easy. You have to be able to convince the shop that you’re going to return the machine, which translates into posting security. And of course you must produce necessary documentation.
The vagaries of the weather can play havoc with even the best-laid travel plans!
