Places Near Marrakech

The Atlas Mountains provide a stunning backdrop to Marrakech. One of the great pleasures of the Red City is to relax on the roof terrace on a clear day enjoying views of the snow covered mountain tops. The mountains themselves are easily accessible for a day trip or excursion. A favourite route is the Ourika valley.

Oukaimeden is Africa’s largest ski resort and is only about an hour’s drive from Marrakech. If you love skiing then a visit to Oukaimeden is a must. Winter months of January and February are best time to visit this place however the skiing period is from December to May.

Ouirgane village is located in the foothills of the Altas Mountains and is just one and half hour drive from Marrakech. The picturesque place boasts of exceptionally beautiful rose gardens.

Essaouira is another enchanting place and is only two hour’s drive from Marrakech. The place offers an outstanding day excursion to the coast.
