Festivals and Events in Marrakech

Apart from the various Islamic festivals, the town of Marrakech hosts two main interesting festivals or events namely the Festival of Folklore and the Fantasia.

Around May, one can witness the Mousseum of Sidi Mohammed Ma’a al-Anim, where the famous ‘blue people’ (the Saharan Moors) gather.

The Festival of Folklore is celebrated during the months of June which hosts some of the best story-telling troupes in Morocco.

Fantasia is an annual event in Marrakech where one can watch charging Berber horsemen on the ramparts. The event is organised between the months of June and July.
