Best Time to Visit Acapulco

Acapulco, best known for its beaches and resorts, experiences primarily two seasons, namely a dry and a wet season. The best time to visit Acapulco is during its dry season which falls between November and May. These months are pleasant with warm and sunny days, with the nights being balmy. The average temperature during this season ranges between 30 to 32 degree Celsius and rainfall is almost unheard of. The humidity is low and the town with its spectacular beaches is packed with tourist activities. Outsized open-air discos on the beach witness hefty tourist and local crowds. The prices of food, lodging and other facilities tend to rise relatively high during this peak-tourist season. The Virgin of Guadalupe Festival also known as Feast of the Virgin of Guadalupe takes place o 12th December every year. The celebration includes street parties, flower decoration, live music children dressed in traditional costumes and a huge variety of Mexican food and beverages. The religious statue of the Virgin of Guadalupe placed underwater, adjacent to Caleta beach, can be viewed on this day through glass-bottom boats.

Another famous festival during the dry season is the Acapulco Carnival, held in mid-February. The carnival is characterized with colourful processions and the streets are filled with both tourists and locals. One can experience plenty of traditional food and festivities during this celebration.

Acapulco enters its wet season in the month of June and this lasts till October. There is not much of a difference in the temperature as compared with the dry season as it ranges from 31 to 34 degree Celsius. However with most of the rainfall occurring during this season, these months tend to be more humid. It primarily rains during the night, with the days experiencing some amount of sunshine and fresh climate.
