MauritiusWhere to Stay in Mauritius |
|
| |
|
There is quite a range of places to stay in Mauritius, and you can choose from world-class luxury beach hotels and spas to smaller hotels and pensions de familie—boarding houses. Most of the big luxury hotel chains like Hilton, Oberoi, Constance and le Meredien amongst other are represented in Mauritius.
If you are looking to stay in a happening area, choose a hotel or resort in the north of the island- the Mon Choisy beach is a popular area as is the Trou aux Biche. On the east coast the beaches are lovely and untouched and there are also many golf courses around – many of them are world class.
In the south hotels are centred around Flic en Flac and Tamarin – these are also very good locations to stay at with great beaches. Camping on public beaches is possible, but not without some security. Camping sites are rare in Mauritius.
