What to Pack
You should bring in all your essentials from home as far as possible. In Maldives your Gillette blades and Camay soap are probably from home anyway but twice as expensive as if you had bought it there in the first place. Bring plenty of sun protection with a high SPF so you can bronze without burning.
Also light cottons, beachwear, snorkeling gear (if you own any), and umbrella/raincoat.

Travel Documents
All travellers must have a passport to enter Maldives. 30 day tourist visas are issued free of charge when you arrive. This may be extended by a maximum of 90 days. You are not allowed in unless you can convince the authorities that you are carrying adequate money for the duration of your stay. The very minimum that this can be is $25 per day. Also, you must have a confirmed onward/return ticket: they’re just not leaving it to chance that you’ll get stuck with no money and become their problem!
