Culture of Libya

Libyan folk forms are thriving, with Libyan music having enthusiastic adherents in the Arab world. National Libyan television regularly patronises folk musicians from different parts of the country. Traditional Tuareg music and dance are popular in Ghadhames and the south. On the downside, there are no decent film theaters in Libya, and foreign film showings are few and far between. The arts are being revived quite seriously in Libya, with handsome rewards – art galleries are springing up and showcasing talented new artists.
