| | Best Time to Visit Florence |
| |
|
Florence is full of tourists in July and August when much of Europe is on vacation. This is the high season when hotel accommodation is at a premium and prices tend to shoot up. The weather too is less than ideal and the days are warm and humid. Easter week, October, November and even early December are exceedingly pleasant.
If you want to avoid the crowds, if fine weather will make your trip pleasurable and if you want to participate in events special to Florence visit in the months of March, April, October, November or December.
During Easter Florence explodes with fireworks with a whole cartload of them going off in front of the Duomo on Sunday. This is the famous Festival of The Explosion of the Cart. You could also consider making your trip in June for the feast of the patron saint, St. John the Baptist, on the 24th. There’s a marvellous fireworks display at the end of the 16th century costume football matches, the Calcio Storico, also held in June.
