‘Will you come up to Limerick…’ so goes the age old rhyme inviting you to this boisterous, fun and colourful city.
Limerick is the third largest city in Ireland and is fast catching up with other major cities of the country. This city, long ignored, is finally coming in to its own. Effervescent and vivacious, Limerick which was more often than not passed up for its more well known neighbour Galway, is gradually becoming a tourist hot spot.
With rich history perfectly blended in modern times, it’s no wonder that the world is sitting up and taking notice of Limerick.

Everyone has at some point heard and laughed at a Limerick or two. Limerick poems which have been popular with kids and adults alike, get their name from this Irish city, where such five-lined songs or ‘limericks’ were sung.
Limerick is known as ‘Stab City’ as all the criminals carry knives because guns are not easily available.
Westlife, Ireland’s gift to the music world shot a few scenes of ‘My Love’ at the Colbert Train Station.
