Festivals and Events in Ramgarh

Like other parts of India, the people of Uttarakhand too celebrate a number of festivals all the year round. At a time when most of the state was rural and transportation was a challenge, these festivals were a way of keeping the community together. There are a number of festivals celebrated in Ramgarh and during your visit you would surely experience an event or two. Basant Panchmi, the coming of Spring, Harela is a Kumauni festival celebrated to mark the beginning of the monsoon, and Makar Sankranti, in January, is a popular festival that symbolizes the harvest season.
