Love wildlife? Visit Rajaji National Park, a wildlife sanctuary, situated at the foot of the Himalayas. This sanctuary spreads across three districts of Uttaranchal- Haridwar, Dehradun and Pauri Garhwal. Named after C. Rajagopalachari (Rajaji), a leader of the freedom struggle and one of the first receivers of Bharat Ratna, this sanctuary is actually an amalgamation of three wildlife sanctuaries- Rajaji, Motichur and Chilla, which were merged in 1983 into a single park named Rajaji National Park.
The park contains subtropical moist deciduous forests, distinct vegetation zones and a remarkable array of creatures - 23 species of mammals and 315 species of birds.

Visit the Rajaji National Park during the months of November and June, still best time is in the cooler months of December and March to observe and experience the flora and fauna of the region.
