Festivals and Events in Nainital

The well-visited festival in Nainital is the Autumn Festival. This annual event is held in the month of October which is also a good time to visit this place.

The other event is the Nanda Devi Mela that was originally conceptualized by Baj Bahadur Chand, a contemporary of the Mughal king Aurangzeb. Nanda Devi Melas are celebrated at many places in Kumaon, Nainital being one of them.
