There are many tourist places around Mandawa. Visit Nawalgarh that is famous for its fort that was built in 1737. At a distance of only 37 kms from Mandawa. Other popular attractions here include havelis of Anandi Lal Poddar, Aath Haveli, Hem Raj Kulwal Haveli, Bhagton Ki Haveli, and Khedwal Bhavan.
Parsurampura is located some 43 km south east of Mandawa and has the distinction of having the best-preserved and oldest paintings in the Shekhawati region.

Jhunjhunu is the largest town in the Shekhawati region. There is no clear account of when it was founded and by whom. It is said that it was ruled over by the Chauhan Dynasty in the Vikram era 1045, and Sidhraj was a renowned king. In the year 1450 Mohammed Khan & his son Samas khan defeated the Chauhans and conquered Jhunjhunu. Mohammed khan was first Nawab of Jhunjhunu.
